The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 10 minutes into the match, Gaston Aztore had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Matías Valle. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gaston Aztore was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Joel Cordaryal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 15 played minutes PEÇONHENTO FC MG got a freekick which was hit by Elivélton Neves. Kader Picar charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kader Picar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Matías Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guido Montrell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th minute, Pedro Luiz Marinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Kader Picar got a free kick in the 34th minute. In the 35th minute of the match Ovidio Lucian shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Matías Valle showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 37th minute, Prudencio Bernat got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pedro Luiz Marinho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Wilfredo Mikelar made a huge save. Matías Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Cordaryal in the 44th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Guido Montrell stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Kader Picar was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 51 minutes had been played. After 52 played minutes PEÇONHENTO FC MG got a freekick which was hit by Kader Picar. Guido Montrell took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Matías Valle. Matías Valle dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Matías Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guido Montrell in the 66th minute of play. In the 67th minute Joel Cordaryal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matías Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauricio Cordarell in the 71st minute of play forced PEÇONHENTO FC MG's goalkeeper Matías Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Matías Valle made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Prudencio Bernat sent off a good shot on target. Joel Cordaryal's late challenge caught a PEÇONHENTO FC MG's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joel Cordaryal helped the player get up and apologised. After 76 played minutes Torbellino got a freekick which was hit by Joel Cordaryal. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Matías Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guido Montrell in the 84th minute of play.
