A collision led to Palermo getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Lisandro Argi hit a great ball. Santos Ioritz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elder Luz in the 12th minute of play forced Palermo's goalkeeper Enrique Lekubegi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute Dorival Veloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Lekubegi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 17 played minutes Palermo got a freekick which was hit by Santos Ioritz. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Otávio Arce managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.E. Cachoeirinha's supporters rose to their feet, but Otávio Arce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enrique Lekubegi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of S.E. Cachoeirinha booed when Palermo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado Ubarna didn't get a good kick on the ball. 20 minutes into the match, S.E. Cachoeirinha's Luiz Fabiano Prata sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Enrique Lekubegi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Enrique Lekubegi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorival Veloso in the 22nd minute of play. Enrique Lekubegi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Fabiano Prata in the 24th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dorival Veloso in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Enrique Lekubegi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Luiz Fabiano Prata came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the S.E. Cachoeirinha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luiz Fabiano Prata couldn't finish the play. Elder Luz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Enrique Lekubegi made a huge save. Dorival Veloso succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 36th playminute. Enrique Lekubegi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Otávio Arce in the 43rd minute of play. Conrado Ubarna's late challenge caught a S.E. Cachoeirinha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Conrado Ubarna helped the player get up and apologised. In the 44th minute, Conrado Ubarna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 45 minutes into the match, Palermo's goalkeeper Enrique Lekubegi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Fabiano Prata. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fabiano Prata in the 47th minute of play forced Palermo's goalkeeper Enrique Lekubegi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

S.E. Cachoeirinha's Betão de Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Prospero Rubio in the 52nd minute of play. Enrique Lekubegi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorival Veloso in the 55th minute of play. After a rather tough play, S.E. Cachoeirinha's Marco de Castro got a free kick in the 57th minute. 59 minutes into the match, Luiz Fabiano Prata had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Enrique Lekubegi. Palermo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luiz Fabiano Prata was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fabiano Prata in the 63rd minute of play forced Palermo's goalkeeper Enrique Lekubegi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Enrique Lekubegi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Otávio Arce, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 67th minute, Palermo's Nicanor Gaufred dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Otávio Arce scored 3-1 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Enrique Lekubegi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Enrique Lekubegi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fabiano Prata in the 81st minute of the match.
