Donato Cangas came out of the goal and Amílton Paulista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cactos's Deivid Rosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vladimiro Cangas in the 12th minute of play. Donato Cangas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diamantino Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo Xpertin's Vladimiro Cangas got a free kick in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Diamantino Santos was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gary Medel during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cactos's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Donato Cangas was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Diamantino Santos showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 59 minute of play. Diamantino Santos's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Donato Cangas firmly grabbed it by the left post. The Cactos supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cactos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
