After 6 minutes, Cláudio Ramalho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Xiboquinha FC and the SC Conceição players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of SC Conceição booed when Xiboquinha FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cláudio Ramalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Xiboquinha FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jerônimo Senna came free, but Frédson Freire reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by Xiboquinha FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Álvaro Arósio was slow to take the kick. During this time SC Conceição's players had a chance to rest. A well done corner resulted in Luiz Fabiano Magalhães drilling the ball in to score 0-1 behind Xiboquinha FC's goalkeeper. In the 13th minute, Tomás Quintal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Romeu Perez was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 14 minutes had been played. After 14 played minutes SC Conceição got a freekick which was hit by Romeu Perez. The supporters of Xiboquinha FC booed when SC Conceição was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgard Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the match, SC Conceição's goalkeeper Delfim Goiano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomás Quintal. In the 21st minute Josué Donatello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delfim Goiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Tomás Quintal came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Xiboquinha FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomás Quintal couldn't finish the play. Cláudio Ramalho, 24 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Josué Donatello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Delfim Goiano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomás Quintal in the 38th minute. Frédson Freire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexsandro Valle in the 39th minute of the match. A collision led to SC Conceição getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Walmir Senna hit a great ball. The Xiboquinha FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SC Conceição were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jerônimo Senna was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute, Jerônimo Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 58 minutes into the game, Josué Donatello cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Delfim Goiano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Frédson Freire stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jerônimo Senna's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. SC Conceição's Delfim Goiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomás Quintal in the 68th minute of play. Hélder Meireles hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Xiboquinha FC's Tomás Quintal got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SC Conceição's Delfim Goiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomás Quintal in the 78th minute of play. Josué Donatello's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Delfim Goiano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. Edgard Ribeiro's late challenge caught a Xiboquinha FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edgard Ribeiro helped the player get up and apologised. It was beautiful to see Xiboquinha FC's Arnaldo Baiano in action when he in the 87th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Xiboquinha FC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing SC Conceição to leave the ground with a draw.
