When Emil Olteanu fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Granicerul's protests and gave Emil Olteanu a yellow card for diving instead. After 33 played minutes Granicerul got a freekick which was hit by Emil Olteanu. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicu Olăroiu got free with Lino Crnogaj in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 53 minutes, Cezar Mârzac managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Granicerul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cezar Mârzac was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Granicerul's Toader Almăgean played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gradimir Kadija in the 65th minute of play. Lino Crnogaj took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cezar Mârzac, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 74 minutes into the match, Granicerul's goal looked a bit too open when Gradimir Kadija came free, but Toader Almăgean reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
