Matthieu Abelard came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Karamba's Jonas Mečius. But to his dismay, Jonas Mečius quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Johnny Burns had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matthieu Abelard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Klemensas Makauskas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adomas Bikulčius made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Kasey Gobey sent off a good shot on target. Adomas Bikulčius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tristram Ellerton in the 16th minute of play. Matthieu Abelard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Klemensas Makauskas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 20 played minutes Club Atlético de Newell got a freekick which was hit by Tommy Knight. Shane Medley kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Almantas Girčius ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Matthieu Abelard was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Klemensas Makauskas in the 24th minute of play forced Club Atlético de Newell's goalkeeper Matthieu Abelard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Karamba's Jaunius Petkevičius got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atlético de Newell's zone, Jonas Mečius stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Matthieu Abelard came out of the goal and Jonas Mečius tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. FC Karamba's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Almantas Girčius in the 32nd minute. A nice corner shot did that Almantas Girčius got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Matthieu Abelard quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Matthieu Abelard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Klemensas Makauskas, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. 42 minutes into the game, Kasey Gobey was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Atlético de Newell's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Karamba the free kick. The supporters of FC Karamba booed when Club Atlético de Newell was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kasey Gobey didn't get a good kick on the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Club Atlético de Newell's goal looked a bit too open when Klemensas Makauskas came free, but Matthieu Abelard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tristram Ellerton was the one to do the kick off. Adomas Bikulčius took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tristram Ellerton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Klemensas Makauskas in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Matthieu Abelard prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Adomas Bikulčius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tristram Ellerton in the 56th minute of the match. Klemensas Makauskas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Matthieu Abelard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético de Newell's Benji Kay got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Klemensas Makauskas in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Matthieu Abelard prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Klemensas Makauskas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Matthieu Abelard made a huge save. Anicetas Pakėnas hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Adomas Bikulčius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tristram Ellerton, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Arnas Obrikis hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Adomas Bikulčius took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benji Kay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 79 minutes into the match, Club Atlético de Newell's goalkeeper Matthieu Abelard had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Klemensas Makauskas. If Klemensas Makauskas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Klemensas Makauskas got free with Matthieu Abelard in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Adomas Bikulčius took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johnny Burns, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adomas Bikulčius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tristram Ellerton in the 96th minute of the match. The Club Atlético de Newell fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC Karamba were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
