The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Angelo Deunoro to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Nacional's zone, Guido Burni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benigno Abeitia came out of the goal and Guido Burni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 54 minutes into the match, Atlético Nacional's goalkeeper Benigno Abeitia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jacinto Ferman. With an all-out effort, Atlético Rio Cuarto's Benigno Abeitia threw himself towards the right post 56 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Angelo Deunoro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Alvaro Pabla stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Godofredo Manni's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Feliciano Geleberto hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. The supporters of Atlético Rio Cuarto booed when Atlético Nacional was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nereo Txilar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Atlético Rio Cuarto's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atlético Nacional the free kick. In the 95th match minute, Atlético Rio Cuarto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roman Urbes to maneuver through the defense.
