The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Aristides Ezkerra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Baldomero Burni made a huge save. Baldomero Burni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eustaquio Cilio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Santo Lugo hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. In the 13th match minute, Trinchera FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldo Ignazio to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldo Ignazio in the 15th minute of play forced Real Espartillar's goalkeeper Baldomero Burni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th match minute, Real Espartillar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timoteo Poncio to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Real Espartillar defense, Aristides Ezkerra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Baldomero Burni. The Real Espartillar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Baldomero Burni should have stopped the shot. If Eustaquio Cilio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute Eustaquio Cilio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baldomero Burni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Trinchera FC were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after Real Espartillar's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Vladimiro Jerardo took the corner. Vladimiro Jerardo made a great header on Trinchera FC's corner, it was just that Real Espartillar's Baldomero Burni managed to reach the ball for a save. After 35 minutes, Santo Lugo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Real Espartillar and the Trinchera FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Santo Lugo kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Eustaquio Cilio received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Baldomero Burni came out and tried to block the shot, but Eustaquio Cilio slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 37th minute. When Osvaldo Ignazio came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Trinchera FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvaldo Ignazio couldn't finish the play. After having played for 45 minutes, Aristides Ezkerra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trinchera FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aristides Ezkerra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Real Espartillar's Baldomero Burni proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Real Espartillar from getting a goal against them. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eustaquio Cilio to make the kick off. Baldomero Burni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eustaquio Cilio, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. When Eustaquio Cilio came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Trinchera FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eustaquio Cilio couldn't finish the play. Cornelio Nel kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. In the 70th minute, Eustaquio Cilio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 72 minutes into the game, Trinchera FC's Osvaldo Ignazio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Baldomero Burni made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. Aristides Ezkerra scored 8-0 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Baldomero Burni, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Eustaquio Cilio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Baldomero Burni read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Baldomero Burni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aristides Ezkerra in the 90th minute of the match. 92 minutes into the match, Real Espartillar's Aurelio Distiratsu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Erasmo Naelio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Real Espartillar's zone, Eustaquio Cilio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baldomero Burni came out of the goal and Eustaquio Cilio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
