Agustín Brei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gelu Minda in the 5th minute of play. After having played for 6 minutes, Nistor Sterescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC ANC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nistor Sterescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC ANC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 8th minute, when Hector Ignatius scored to the left of an out of position Petrică Dăscălescu, making the score, 1-0. In the 12th minute of the game Horea Apăvăloaie made a throw-in which Nistor Sterescu played forward. Petrică Dăscălescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hector Ignatius in the 14th minute of play. Agustín Brei stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aristide Chifu's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. When Ivan Marincean fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC ANC's protests and gave Ivan Marincean a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FC ANC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Ivan Marincean hit a great ball. Petrică Dăscălescu acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 19th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Hector Ignatius. Anacleto Sedeni's late challenge caught a FC ANC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anacleto Sedeni helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Anacleto Sedeni hit a great ball. Agustín Brei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aristide Chifu in the 33rd minute of play. The supporters of ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ booed when FC ANC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Marincean didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute, Hector Ignatius fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hector Ignatius in the 39th minute of play forced FC ANC's goalkeeper Petrică Dăscălescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute, Gheorghe Dumitrana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute Gheorghe Dumitrana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agustín Brei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ilie Hodorog to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's goal looked a bit too open when Ilie Hodorog came free, but Agustín Brei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aristide Chifu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 53rdth minute, Agustín Brei skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Petrică Dăscălescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hector Ignatius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the FC ANC defense, Hector Ignatius kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Petrică Dăscălescu. The FC ANC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Petrică Dăscălescu should have stopped the shot. Guido Cristofol recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th match minute, FC ANC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Marincean to maneuver through the defense. Ignacio Afonso kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC ANC's goalkeeper Petrică Dăscălescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ignacio Afonso was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 69 minutes into the match. After 70 minutes ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's goalkeeper Agustín Brei managed, with a little bit of luck, save Ilie Hodorog's penalty, on his right side after a tricky shot. Ilie Hodorog took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Agustín Brei. Agustín Brei dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. A collision led to FC ANC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Ilie Hodorog hit a great ball. FC ANC's Petrică Dăscălescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hector Ignatius in the 77th minute of play. If Ilie Hodorog had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aristide Chifu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 90th match minute, FC ANC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nistor Sterescu to maneuver through the defense. Agustín Brei stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ilie Hodorog's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. FC ANC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
