Dráusio Domingues's late challenge caught a Trabzonspor's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dráusio Domingues helped the player get up and apologised. When Irreal Madrid's Dráusio Domingues in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Genco Çakmur showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aílton Magalhães in the 29th minute of the match. Genco Çakmur was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Dráusio Domingues in the 37th minute of play forced Trabzonspor's goalkeeper Genco Çakmur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute, Aílton Magalhães got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Nuno Lara came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Irreal Madrid fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nuno Lara couldn't finish the play. Müfit Taygun's late challenge caught a Irreal Madrid's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Túlio Maranhense took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Genco Çakmur. Genco Çakmur dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

A collision led to Irreal Madrid getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Dráusio Domingues hit a great ball. The attack was good, but when Túlio Maranhense in the 56th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 59th minute, Túlio Maranhense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 62 minutes into the game, Aílton Magalhães cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Genco Çakmur was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fehmi Okay kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Dráusio Domingues managed to get in a good position for a shot. Irreal Madrid's supporters rose to their feet, but Dráusio Domingues was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Genco Çakmur breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Irreal Madrid's William Couto was substituted for Rubinho Luz. Genco Çakmur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nuno Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 77th minute, Nuno Lara made a precise shot to the right of Genco Çakmur. Trabzonspor's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7. Nuno Lara kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Trabzonspor's Genco Çakmur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lenílson Azevedo in the 87th minute of play. In the 87th match minute, Trabzonspor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bedrettin Bektaş to maneuver through the defense. Irreal Madrid's Dráusio Domingues shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 88th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Genco Çakmur but with some difficulty. Aílton Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Genco Çakmur having to interfere. With a little luck, Trabzonspor's Genco Çakmur got control of the ball when Aílton Magalhães tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Trabzonspor's zone, Dráusio Domingues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Genco Çakmur came out of the goal and Dráusio Domingues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Túlio Maranhense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Genco Çakmur having to interfere. Dráusio Domingues could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Genco Çakmur made a huge save.
