Yngve Sjöberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Carlos Alvarado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of CS La Libertad booed when Papilio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roland Kilström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ivan Västlund acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 10th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Wilmer Murillo. Ivan Västlund was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Brandon Aguilera showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 11 minute of play. Gallo Pinto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Ivan Västlund made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as CS La Libertad's Brandon Aguilera slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ivan Västlund. That made the score 2-0 after 19 minutes of play. Carlos Alvarado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matthias Lagerberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. When Papilio's Matthias Lagerberg in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye CS La Libertad's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Papilio's Mark Eckegren got a free kick in the 31st minute. Wilmer Murillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidro Valverde in the 34th minute of play forced Papilio's goalkeeper Ivan Västlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Matthias Lagerberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlos Alvarado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Papilio's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Roland Kilström in the 39th minute. After taking down the ball on Papilio's corner Roland Kilström fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Carlos Alvarado quite easily take care of the ball. Gabriel Araya kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. In the 43rd minute of the match Roland Kilström sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlos Alvarado skillfully saved the ball. Carlos Alvarado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matthias Lagerberg in the 47th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

CS La Libertad made a substitution. Henry Palacios replaced Isidro Valverde. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Matthias Lagerberg made a kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Papilio's goal looked a bit too open when Brandon Aguilera came free, but Ivan Västlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60th minute, Papilio's Yngve Sjöberg ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Carlos Alvarado. Carlos Alvarado yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. 62 minutes into the match, Brandon Aguilera notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Papilio's Ivan Västlund. Ivan Västlund was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Carlos Alvarado made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Sonny Hansson sent off a good shot on target. The long shot by Roland Kilström in the 69th minute really tested Carlos Alvarado's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Papilio's Ivan Västlund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henry Palacios in the 74th minute of play. The supporters of Papilio booed when CS La Libertad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gallo Pinto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Alvarado made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Yngve Sjöberg sent off a good shot on target. After 83 minutes of play, Papilio's Matthias Lagerberg made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlos Alvarado was left in no man's land by his defense there! Yngve Sjöberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Alvarado having to interfere. Jörn Hylander kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The CS La Libertad fans cheered their team off the field, for while Papilio had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
