The coaching staff of Les Pionniers de Touraine protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Pacôme Cassier had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Les Pionniers de Touraine. The supporters of Medoacus Maior booed when Les Pionniers de Touraine was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damien Marguier didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Fabrizio Donadoni kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Norbert Krieger. That made the score 1-0 in the 20 minute of play. After 25 played minutes, Les Pionniers de Touraine's Adrien Rogeon shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Armin Mantini came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Les Pionniers de Touraine reached it. Joris Le Tiec's late challenge caught a Medoacus Maior's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

There was no doubt that Medoacus Maior were the better team. Medoacus Maior's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
