Buitenhout FC's Herman Asselbergs got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paolo Cordearo got free with Robbie Schimmel in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 18th match minute, Buitenhout FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herman Asselbergs to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes into the match, Bertus Scheffer notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Forest Green's Elvio Galtero. Elvio Galtero was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rolando Janpier came free with the goalkeeper in the 28th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Robbie Schimmel could save by the left post. After 30 played minutes Forest Green got a freekick which was hit by Rolando Janpier. A collision led to Buitenhout FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. René Douwes hit a great ball. René Douwes kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Buitenhout FC's Roy Kostermans got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 37th minute, Mickael van der Linden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Damaso Jaizki blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Robbie Schimmel having to make a save. 42 minutes into the match, Forest Green's goal looked a bit too open when Roy Kostermans came free, but Elvio Galtero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Buitenhout FC's Robbie Schimmel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilfredo Beliran in the 44th minute of play. After the first half Buitenhout FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wilfredo Beliran to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Arnold Dijkman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Victorino Izel's late challenge caught a Buitenhout FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Victorino Izel helped the player get up and apologised. Forest Green's Elvio Galtero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bertus Scheffer in the 57th minute of play. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Buitenhout FC's goalkeeper Robbie Schimmel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 70 minutes into the match, Buitenhout FC's goal looked a bit too open when Israel Naldo came free, but Robbie Schimmel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 78 minutes into the game, Wilfredo Beliran cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Robbie Schimmel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Forest Green getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Victorino Izel hit a great ball. 92 minutes into the game, Arnold Dijkman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Buitenhout FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Forest Green the free kick. In the 92nd match minute, Buitenhout FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnold Dijkman to maneuver through the defense. Forest Green's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
