Spectators: 176 (Terracing: 133, Seating: 40, VIP seats: 3) Racing Club's Damian Raphael started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute of the match Ralph Lunnet sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Amado Galeno skillfully saved the ball. After 6 minutes of play, Racing Club's Marco Frutos made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Egil Holmelin was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Racing Club's Amado Galeno got control of the ball when Folmar Alevig tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Frutos in the 11th minute of play forced Esbjerg fB's goalkeeper Egil Holmelin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amado Galeno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christopher Houmaae in the 13th minute of play. Marco Frutos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Egil Holmelin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Marco Frutos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With an all-out effort, Esbjerg fB's Amado Galeno threw himself towards the right post 21 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Helmuth Dybig, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of Esbjerg fB booed when Racing Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiburcio Urko didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vicente Colas kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Racing Club's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Americo Gaskon in the 34th minute. After taking down the ball on Racing Club's corner Americo Gaskon fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Egil Holmelin quite easily take care of the ball. In the 39th match minute, Esbjerg fB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kennet Schneidermann to maneuver through the defense. Esbjerg fB's Egil Holmelin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Frutos in the 40th minute of play. Damian Raphael fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egil Holmelin having to interfere. In the 47th match minute, Racing Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vicente Colas to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Racing Club were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Karsten Kastager made a kick off. If Damian Raphael had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 53 minutes into the match, Esbjerg fB's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Frutos came free, but Egil Holmelin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th match minute, Esbjerg fB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Folmar Alevig to maneuver through the defense. Amado Galeno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christopher Houmaae in the 57th minute of play. After having played for 59 minutes, Marco Frutos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Racing Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marco Frutos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 60 minutes, Kennet Schneidermann mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Esbjerg fB and the Racing Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 60 played minutes Esbjerg fB got a freekick which was hit by Kennet Schneidermann. Marco Frutos struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Egil Holmelin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Racing Club. The audience thought a goal was coming when Damian Raphael got free with Egil Holmelin in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 64thth minute of the game Marco Frutos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Esbjerg fB's Egil Holmelin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Damian Raphael came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Racing Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damian Raphael couldn't finish the play. After 70 played minutes Racing Club got a freekick which was hit by Isaac Sarracino. Damian Raphael could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Egil Holmelin made a huge save. Egil Holmelin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Frutos, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Jeronimo Eutropio hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. 76 minutes into the match, Racing Club's goal looked a bit too open when Peiter Ranle came free, but Amado Galeno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, Racing Club's goal looked a bit too open when Karsten Kastager came free, but Amado Galeno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. They were angered to see Esbjerg fB lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
