When João Nascimento fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ✪ XV de Umarizal's protests and gave João Nascimento a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Clube Audax Metropolitano booed when ✪ XV de Umarizal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. The audience cheered loudly when Acácio Pernambucano's long shot in the 13th minute became 1-0 when the ball went to the left of and passed Nelsinho Bastos. With his leg Nelsinho Bastos managed to avoid a goal in the 19thth minute, when Clube Audax Metropolitano's Barney Thomson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Barney Thomson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Clube Audax Metropolitano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zeca Siqueira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. But to his dismay, Barney Thomson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. Frank Paulista kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. In the 91st minute Zeca Siqueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelsinho Bastos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgard Mineiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ronaldinho Andrade hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Nelsinho Bastos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barney Thomson, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. When the referee ended the match the Clube Audax Metropolitano players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
