Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to SORRISO E. C. getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Frederico Amorim hit a great ball. 12 minutes into the game, Joaquim Queirós recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bernardo Karmel. Joaquim Queirós showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Artur Branco took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Bernardo Karmel to make any attempt to save it. Bernardo Karmel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joaquim Queirós's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. SORRISO E. C.'s Eugênio Teles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Francis in the 24th minute of play. Jesus Gorri kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Club Santos Laguna's Bernardo Karmel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Club Santos Laguna from getting a goal against them. After 29 played minutes SORRISO E. C. got a freekick which was hit by Artur Branco. Joaquim Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júlio Faria in the 33rd minute of play forced Club Santos Laguna's goalkeeper Bernardo Karmel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Júlio Faria dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Bernardo Karmel, 4-0. 5-0 became the score in the 38th minute when Júlio Faria elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 45 minutes into the game, SORRISO E. C.'s Joaquim Queirós nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bernardo Karmel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. 48 minutes into the match, Joaquim Queirós notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Club Santos Laguna's Bernardo Karmel. Bernardo Karmel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 7-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gustavo Francis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. SORRISO E. C.'s Artur Branco got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bernardo Karmel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joaquim Queirós's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Club Santos Laguna's Bernardo Karmel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júlio Faria in the 60th minute of play. Bernardo Karmel came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by SORRISO E. C.'s Vítor Sousa. But to his dismay, Vítor Sousa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-0. 71 minutes into the match, Júlio Faria had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bernardo Karmel. Club Santos Laguna's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Júlio Faria was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 11-0. After 76 played minutes Club Santos Laguna got a freekick which was hit by Julio Iraitz. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Vítor Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot. SORRISO E. C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Vítor Sousa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernardo Karmel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jesus Gorri during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 80 played minutes Club Santos Laguna got a freekick which was hit by Jesus Gorri. Bernardo Karmel came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by SORRISO E. C.'s Júlio Faria. But to his dismay, Júlio Faria quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 12-0. 89 minutes into the game, SORRISO E. C.'s Pedrinho Terra nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bernardo Karmel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 13-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júlio Faria in the 92nd minute of play forced Club Santos Laguna's goalkeeper Bernardo Karmel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sergio Heli's late challenge caught a SORRISO E. C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sergio Heli helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of SORRISO E. C. booed when Club Santos Laguna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sergio Heli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bernardo Karmel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júlio Faria in the 96th minute of the match. 97 minutes into the game, SORRISO E. C.'s Artur Branco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bernardo Karmel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 14-0.
