The referee felt a red card was in order, 4 minutes into the game, when Zornin Maderos put in a rough tackle. In the 5th minute, Zornin Maderos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 6th minute, Maicon Zanette got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 7th minute, Eliseu Alagoano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Al-Fajuth fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. A collision led to Al-Fajuth getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Célio Albuquerque hit a great ball. Dolfo Aledo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Édouard Mendy made a huge save. Larpe Canive struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Édouard Mendy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Linterna verde. After 31 minutes, Eliseu Alagoano made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Linterna verde's Zoilo Rojica tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rômulo Soares in the 36th minute of play forced Linterna verde's goalkeeper Zoilo Rojica to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zoilo Rojica showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseu Alagoano, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Édouard Mendy came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Linterna verde's Larpe Canive. But to his dismay, Larpe Canive quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Al-Fajuth's Édouard Mendy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Al-Fajuth from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Linterna verde's zone, Eliseu Alagoano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zoilo Rojica came out of the goal and Eliseu Alagoano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eliseu Alagoano to make the kick off. Zoilo Rojica made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rômulo Soares in the 55th minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, Linterna verde's goal looked a bit too open when Rômulo Soares came free, but Zoilo Rojica reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zoilo Rojica took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseu Alagoano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute, Wilson Matorin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Linterna verde made a substitution. Ieltxu Botella replaced Beltran Villafana. Zoilo Rojica was out of position in the 78 minute of play, and Rômulo Soares capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rômulo Soares really showed his touch with that goal: 1-5. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Generosb Solano during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Eliseu Alagoano put it in 1-6 from a short distance just to the right of Zoilo Rojica. Al-Fajuth's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
