The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 13th minute, one of Esteco:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Esteco. Perico Pérez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Makis Zounis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ ΣΟΛΟΜΟΥ getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Marinos Kouklakis hit a great ball. Perico Pérez made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Marinos Kouklakis sent off a good shot on target. After 24 played minutes ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ ΣΟΛΟΜΟΥ got a freekick which was hit by Paris Dimakoglou. After 25 minutes, Carlos Manuel Rodríguez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Esteco and the ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ ΣΟΛΟΜΟΥ players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 25th match minute, Esteco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Manuel Rodríguez to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Esteco's Perico Pérez got control of the ball when Michalis Bakakos tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 28th minute Alvaro Cedro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Babbis Zervoudakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paris Dimakoglou kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Makis Zounis kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Makis Zounis's late challenge caught a Esteco's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Makis Zounis helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ ΣΟΛΟΜΟΥ getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Makis Zounis hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marinos Kouklakis got free with Perico Pérez in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Alvaro Cedro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alvaro Cedro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Babbis Zervoudakis having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Theodosis Kostenoglou scored 1-1 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Perico Pérez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Michalis Bakakos in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Perico Pérez saved Esteco from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michalis Bakakos in the 61st minute of play forced Esteco's goalkeeper Perico Pérez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexandros Karameris hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Esteco's Perico Pérez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Makis Zounis in the 65th minute of play. If Marinos Kouklakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Carlos Manuel Rodríguez kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. The supporters of ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ ΣΟΛΟΜΟΥ booed when Esteco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angel Labruna didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 74th minute, Makis Zounis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Simon Prejun showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. After having played for 81 minutes, Marinos Kouklakis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ ΣΟΛΟΜΟΥ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marinos Kouklakis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Esteco's Alvaro Cedro got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Makis Zounis took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Perico Pérez. Perico Pérez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. 92 minutes into the game, ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ ΣΟΛΟΜΟΥ's Michalis Bakakos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Perico Pérez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. Esteco's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
