Palmares Futebol Clube's Leonardo Paz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Víktor Terra in the 20th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Joãozinho Pernambucano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Manuel Hermes was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Manuel Hermes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ismael Secco, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. 36 minutes into the game, Ismael Secco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Manuel Hermes came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Palmares Futebol Clube's Oswaldo Sena. But to his dismay, Oswaldo Sena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Gerson da Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61st match minute, Real Ducks Sport Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedito Paraense to maneuver through the defense. Manuel Hermes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joãozinho Pernambucano's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. After some careless play in the Real Ducks Sport Club defense, Ismael Secco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Manuel Hermes. The Real Ducks Sport Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Manuel Hermes should have stopped the shot. Palmares Futebol Clube made a substitution. Alfredo Botelho replaced Oswaldo Sena. When Joãozinho Pernambucano came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Palmares Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joãozinho Pernambucano couldn't finish the play. Manuel Hermes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cipriano Nóbrega in the 82nd minute of the match. In the 88th minute, Joãozinho Pernambucano made a precise shot to the right of Manuel Hermes. Real Ducks Sport Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. The supporters of Palmares Futebol Clube booed when Real Ducks Sport Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position.
