Wilford Shipp's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Waldo Hills read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. The supporters of Atlético Patoruzu booed when Cosmos Soccer Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dante Paquette didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bruce Nesbitt came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Atlético Patoruzu's Connor Presley. But to his dismay, Connor Presley quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. A collision led to Cosmos Soccer Club getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Dante Paquette hit a great ball. Bruce Nesbitt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Geoff Ackerman's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Cosmos Soccer Club's Bruce Nesbitt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Cosmos Soccer Club from getting a goal against them. Bruce Nesbitt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geoff Ackerman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bruce Nesbitt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Connor Presley in the 25th minute of play. In the 31st minute, Dante Paquette made a precise shot to the right of Waldo Hills. Atlético Patoruzu's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 40th minute, Russ Thorne got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The wind increased when Wilford Shipp made the kick off in the second half. Leonard Hinton's late challenge caught a Cosmos Soccer Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonard Hinton helped the player get up and apologised. Leonard Hinton hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Waldo Hills had great luck who in the 55thth minute grab hold of the ball when Russ Thorne from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. 61 minutes into the match, Cosmos Soccer Club's goal looked a bit too open when Geoff Ackerman came free, but Bruce Nesbitt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Leonard Hinton left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atlético Patoruzu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. In the 67th minute, Connor Presley ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bruce Nesbitt was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. With a little luck, Atlético Patoruzu's Waldo Hills got control of the ball when Wilford Shipp tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Geoff Ackerman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Monte Leary charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Monte Leary the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Cosmos Soccer Club getting a freekick after 81 minutes play.
