After 8 minutes, Jeremias Ignatius mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Los Hornos and the Atlético Montserrat players grew even worse after the yellow card. Everardo Francho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel Orkatz in the 17th minute of the match. A collision led to Atlético Montserrat getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Sixto Su hit a great ball. Jeremias Ignatius scored 0-2 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Florencio Ferran, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Paulo Opilano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florencio Ferran having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Paulo Opilano made a precise shot to the right of Florencio Ferran. Atlético Montserrat's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. 45 minutes into the match, Atlético Montserrat's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Opilano came free, but Florencio Ferran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Los Hornos were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Sixto Su got a throw-in 51 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Everardo Gipuzkoa. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulo Opilano got free with Florencio Ferran in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sixto Su hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Jeremias Ignatius's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 58thth minute, Florencio Ferran skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulo Opilano in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Florencio Ferran prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 61st minute, Paulo Opilano reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Florencio Ferran. The goal made the score 0-5. The supporters of Los Hornos booed when Atlético Montserrat was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolas Berasko didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 68th minute, Los Hornos's Paulo Opilano dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-6. When Paulo Opilano came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Los Hornos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Opilano couldn't finish the play. In the 73rd minute, Jeremias Ignatius got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paulo Opilano took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Florencio Ferran. Florencio Ferran dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-7. In the 84th play minute Paulo Opilano came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Florencio Ferran. 0-8. Paulo Opilano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Florencio Ferran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo Opilano might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Florencio Ferran. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulo Opilano ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Jeremias Ignatius kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Florencio Ferran. That made the score 0-9 in the 97 minute of play. When the match was over Los Hornos could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Atlético Montserrat throughout the match.
