The audience thought a goal was coming when Brook Yard got free with Joakim Widberg in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Kröll BK's Joakim Widberg got control of the ball when Brook Yard tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joakim Widberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dan Shortis in the 20th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Kröll BK's zone, Charles Reiter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joakim Widberg came out of the goal and Charles Reiter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dan Shortis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Kröll BK were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Melbourne 007's much stronger midfield.
