The referee ignored Dep Colonia Avellaneda's protests and gave Mario Piorno a yellow card for diving instead. In the 11th minute, Mario Piorno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Real Murçia FC's zone, Mario Piorno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mario Piorno who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 70thth minute tested the skills of Alfredo Franceschi when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Mario Piorno's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfredo Franceschi was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Gavino Fernado managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Camillo Giolo in the 90 minute of the game. Dep Colonia Avellaneda's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
