Habib Ali Picavea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Laerte de Senna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 9th minute, Hélder Velasco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Laerte de Senna was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorginho Mazza during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Júlio Maciel's late challenge caught a Morro Grande E.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Júlio Maciel helped the player get up and apologised. In the 17th match minute, Passa o Tanque MZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júlio Maciel to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldinho Meira in the 19th minute of play forced Passa o Tanque MZ's goalkeeper Laerte de Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christian Monteiro hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Laerte de Senna didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Habib Ali Picavea went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After 31 minutes of play, Morro Grande E.C's Ronaldinho Meira made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Laerte de Senna was left in no man's land by his defense there! Laerte de Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélder Velasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 35 minutes, Habib Ali Picavea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Morro Grande E.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Habib Ali Picavea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Passa o Tanque MZ's Ademar Medeiros got a free kick in the 37th minute. A hard and well directed shot from Toninho Grau led 38 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Passa o Tanque MZ's Laerte de Senna became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 0-5. After 42 minutes of play, Morro Grande E.C's Ronaldinho Meira made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Laerte de Senna was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half Morro Grande E.C were leading 0-7. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Júlio Maciel to make the kick off. With a little luck, Passa o Tanque MZ's Laerte de Senna got control of the ball when Hélder Velasco tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Habib Ali Picavea got free with Laerte de Senna in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 69th minute, Christiano Trevisan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Morro Grande E.C's Toninho Soeiro was substituted for Kaká Sampaio. Laerte de Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Habib Ali Picavea, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Laerte de Senna came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Morro Grande E.C's Hélder Velasco. But to his dismay, Hélder Velasco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-11. In the 81st minute Ronaldinho Meira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laerte de Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jorginho Mazza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 87 minutes of play, Morro Grande E.C's Habib Ali Picavea made it 0-12 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Laerte de Senna was left in no man's land by his defense there! Passa o Tanque MZ's Laerte de Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélder Velasco in the 94th minute of play. Morro Grande E.C played a much better game than Passa o Tanque MZ and deserved their victory. The Passa o Tanque MZ players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
