The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After recieving a nice pass, Morro Grande E.C's Toninho Grau tried to score from far away in the 6th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Gláuber Brodel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfaro Moreno in the 11th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the game, Hélder Velasco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Morro Grande E.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Plebeyos the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfaro Moreno in the 15th minute of play forced Morro Grande E.C's goalkeeper Gláuber Brodel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Morro Grande E.C getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Hélder Velasco hit a great ball. Habib Ali Picavea scored 0-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlos Manuel Goyeneche, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 30 played minutes Morro Grande E.C got a freekick which was hit by Hélder Velasco. After 31 minutes, Alfaro Moreno mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Plebeyos and the Morro Grande E.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 32nd minute Habib Ali Picavea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Manuel Goyeneche saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Plebeyos's Carlos Manuel Goyeneche played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Habib Ali Picavea in the 33rd minute of play. Habib Ali Picavea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Manuel Goyeneche having to interfere. Plebeyos were furious when Julio Laurendi was red carded, 40 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Plebeyos's Carlos Manuel Goyeneche played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Habib Ali Picavea in the 43rd minute of play. Morro Grande E.C's Toninho Grau suffered a concussion after 44 minutes and had to leave the field. Alfaro Moreno got his second yellow card in the match during the 44th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 45 played minutes Plebeyos got a freekick which was hit by Alfaro Moreno. After 46 played minutes, Morro Grande E.C's Kaká Sampaio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Carlos Manuel Goyeneche came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Morro Grande E.C reached it. 47 minutes into the match, Plebeyos's goal looked a bit too open when Hélder Velasco came free, but Carlos Manuel Goyeneche reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Plebeyos players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Morro Grande E.C were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Habib Ali Picavea was the one to do the kick off. With an all-out effort, Morro Grande E.C's Carlos Manuel Goyeneche threw himself towards the right post 58 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Christiano Trevisan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Carlos Manuel Goyeneche made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Hélder Velasco sent off a good shot on target. When Niceto Marino fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Plebeyos's protests and gave Niceto Marino a yellow card for diving instead. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Ronaldinho Meira took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Carlos Manuel Goyeneche to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, Plebeyos's Carlos Manuel Goyeneche got control of the ball when Habib Ali Picavea tried to sneak it across the goal line. Carlos Manuel Goyeneche stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Habib Ali Picavea's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. Carlos Manuel Goyeneche made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Habib Ali Picavea sent off a good shot on target. 84 minutes into the match, Plebeyos's goal looked a bit too open when Hélder Velasco came free, but Carlos Manuel Goyeneche reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Manuel Goyeneche made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronaldinho Meira in the 90th minute. Carlos Manuel Goyeneche stood somewhat misplaced when Habib Ali Picavea came free in front of goal and shot 0-3 to the left of him in the 90 minute. In the 94th minute, Ronaldinho Meira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carlos Manuel Goyeneche was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. When the match was over Morro Grande E.C could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Plebeyos throughout the match.
