FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Marian Podgoreanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tymoteusz Giejda in the 6th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goal looked a bit too open when Tymoteusz Giejda came free, but Marian Podgoreanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute, Emanuel Finteșteanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edward Marud took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florin Astafiei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tolek Chlebek hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Mihai Odobescu hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Edward Marud came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Tudor Bărbânță. But to his dismay, Tudor Bărbânță quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Edward Marud took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florin Astafiei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Red Army's Tolek Chlebek got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 42nd minute, Tudor Bărbânță left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC UNIREA Alba Iulia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tudor Bărbânță stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Red Army's Tolek Chlebek got a free kick in the 53rd minute. 58 minutes into the game, Tudor Bărbânță cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Edward Marud was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 62 minutes into the match, Red Army's Tymoteusz Giejda sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marian Podgoreanu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 64th minute Tymoteusz Giejda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marian Podgoreanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th play minute Tudor Bărbânță came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Edward Marud. 0-4. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kryspin Ochabski in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marian Podgoreanu saved FC UNIREA Alba Iulia from getting behind. Edward Marud was a little too slow when Tudor Bărbânță got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 72nd minute. The score was now 0-5. In the 75th minute, Tymoteusz Giejda ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marian Podgoreanu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. Marian Podgoreanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tymoteusz Giejda, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. 86 minutes into the match, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goal looked a bit too open when Tymoteusz Giejda came free, but Marian Podgoreanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marian Podgoreanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tymoteusz Giejda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
