The long shot by Erik Eger in the 20th minute really tested Rubinho Melo's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 26 minutes into the match, New Loser FC's goal looked a bit too open when Donato Saldanha came free, but Magno Vidal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Donato Saldanha was the one to do the kick off.
