Pedro Catalano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Mathias Berger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Pedro Catalano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mathias Berger in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Catalano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the Club Deportivo Español defense, Fiori Arósio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Catalano. The Club Deportivo Español fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Catalano should have stopped the shot. In the 21st minute, Mathias Berger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Catalano was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After 27 minutes, Fiori Arósio made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Club Deportivo Español's Pedro Catalano tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Sagarana Clube booed when Club Deportivo Español was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elvio Palben didn't get a good kick on the ball. But to his dismay, Gilmar Netto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. After 38 minutes, Edu Lobo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sagarana Clube and the Club Deportivo Español players grew even worse after the yellow card. Edu Lobo hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Marco Marquez acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 39th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Victor Oidor. Erik Salles hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After the first half Sagarana Clube were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After a rather tough play, Sagarana Clube's Edu Lobo got a free kick in the 51st minute. Marco Marquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Timo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fiori Arósio struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Pedro Catalano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sagarana Clube. The audience was convinced that Fiori Arósio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Catalano was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Deportivo Español's goalkeeper Pedro Catalano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gilmar Netto kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Marco Marquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Oidor, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Sagarana Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Saturnino Remir came free, but Marco Marquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Sagarana Clube left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Club Deportivo Español.
