C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dráuzio Alvarenga couldn't finish the play. Luís Paulo Velloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars-Erik Jakobsson in the 6th minute of play. When Diamantino Reis fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mexilhão F. C.'s protests and gave Diamantino Reis a yellow card for diving instead. Diamantino Reis hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Prophet Mohammed in the 17th minute of play forced Mexilhão F. C.'s goalkeeper Luís Paulo Velloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Conrado Macedo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Anders Engström came out and tried to block the shot, but Conrado Macedo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 19th minute. Anders Engström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Fábio Luz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luís Paulo Velloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ralf Wennerberg in the 25th minute of play. Prophet Mohammed fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Paulo Velloso having to interfere. Ninjas FK's Anders Engström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Ninjas FK from getting a goal against them. 40 minutes into the game, Ralf Wennerberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ninjas FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mexilhão F. C. the free kick. Conrado Macedo took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anders Engström. Anders Engström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. When Prophet Mohammed came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Ninjas FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Prophet Mohammed couldn't finish the play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Ture Nordlund's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 52ndth minute, Luís Paulo Velloso skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some careless play in the Mexilhão F. C. defense, Lars-Erik Jakobsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luís Paulo Velloso. The Mexilhão F. C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luís Paulo Velloso should have stopped the shot. In the 60th match minute, Ninjas FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Urban Beckström to maneuver through the defense. If Sten Klar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Lars-Erik Jakobsson took a quick shot and it went in 3-3 without a chance for Luís Paulo Velloso to make any attempt to save it. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Mexilhão F. C.'s goalkeeper Luís Paulo Velloso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Ninjas FK's Prophet Mohammed slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Luís Paulo Velloso. That made the score 3-4 after 73 minutes of play. Luís Paulo Velloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Prophet Mohammed, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 79 minutes, Lars-Erik Jakobsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ninjas FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lars-Erik Jakobsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luís Paulo Velloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ture Nordlund, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Urban Beckström kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. After 84 played minutes, Mexilhão F. C.'s Conrado Macedo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Anders Engström came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mexilhão F. C. reached it. Lars-Erik Jakobsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute, Lars-Erik Jakobsson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Luís Paulo Velloso. The goal made the score 3-5. Vicente de Barros kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. When the match was over Ninjas FK could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Mexilhão F. C. throughout the match.
