An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Paulo Freitas in the 16th minute of play forced São Miguel do Oeste.SC's goalkeeper Manuel Vianna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 17 played minutes São Miguel do Oeste.SC got a freekick which was hit by Gugu Marinho. Manuel Vianna made an important save on a dangerous shot by Beto de Moraes in the 20th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gugu Marinho during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 22 played minutes São Miguel do Oeste.SC got a freekick which was hit by Gugu Marinho. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Zé Paulo Freitas took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Manuel Vianna to make any attempt to save it. 29 minutes into the match, São Miguel do Oeste.SC's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastião Brito came free, but Manuel Vianna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zé Paulo Freitas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Manuel Vianna when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jonathan Pirani's late challenge caught a POPULAR F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonathan Pirani helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to São Miguel do Oeste.SC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Jonathan Pirani hit a great ball. 42 minutes into the match, Sebastião Brito dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Manuel Vianna, 5-0. Manuel Vianna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Paulo Freitas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manuel Vianna made an important save on a dangerous shot by Beto de Moraes in the 47th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

When Zé Paulo Freitas came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the POPULAR F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Paulo Freitas couldn't finish the play. In the 54th minute, Roger Rocha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The POPULAR F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. After 58 played minutes POPULAR F.C got a freekick which was hit by Marco Trevisan. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Igor Moura in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manuel Vianna prevented the ball from getting in the gole. POPULAR F.C's Hernani Recife was substituted for Beto de Moraes. POPULAR F.C's Oscar Custódio was substituted for Laércio Nascimento. During the 71st minute of the match Isi Pellegrini completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Isi Pellegrini a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 72nd match minute, São Miguel do Oeste.SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isi Pellegrini to maneuver through the defense. POPULAR F.C's Frank de Barros couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for São Miguel do Oeste.SC. A collision led to São Miguel do Oeste.SC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Kiko Lima hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastião Brito in the 78th minute of play forced São Miguel do Oeste.SC's goalkeeper Manuel Vianna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 79 minutes into the game, Zé Paulo Freitas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Manuel Vianna was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the São Miguel do Oeste.SC defense, Hernani Recife kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Manuel Vianna. The São Miguel do Oeste.SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Manuel Vianna should have stopped the shot. Hernani Recife took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Manuel Vianna. Manuel Vianna dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 10-0. Manuel Vianna came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by POPULAR F.C's Zé Paulo Freitas. But to his dismay, Zé Paulo Freitas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 11-0. There was no doubt that POPULAR F.C were the better team. POPULAR F.C's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
