Dário Zonta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Innes McWalter having to interfere. In the 8th minute, Terry McAngus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Lucca F.C's Flavinho Palmeira got control of the ball when Rod Reidfurd tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lucca F.C's Flavinho Palmeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Blair Armstrong in the 15th minute of play. 15 minutes into the game, Ernesto Cearense was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lucca F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gavião Kyikatejê the free kick. Ernesto Cearense hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. 19 minutes into the match, Lucca F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Blair Armstrong came free, but Flavinho Palmeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Lucca F.C's goalkeeper Flavinho Palmeira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bob McMillan. 26 minutes into the match, Lucca F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Terry McAngus came free, but Flavinho Palmeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Duncan Ennis made in the 28th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Bob McMillan however managed to control. In the 29th minute, Rod Reidfurd left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gavião Kyikatejê fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Lucca F.C's Flavinho Palmeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rod Reidfurd in the 32nd minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Ernesto Cearense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Innes McWalter. Gavião Kyikatejê's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ernesto Cearense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. With an all-out effort, Gavião Kyikatejê's Flavinho Palmeira threw himself towards the right post 43 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bruce Carlyle, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 47 minutes into the game, Rod Reidfurd recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Flavinho Palmeira. Rod Reidfurd showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Flavinho Palmeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruce Carlyle in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th match minute, Lucca F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eurico Garcia to maneuver through the defense. Gavião Kyikatejê's Innes McWalter proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Gavião Kyikatejê from getting a goal against them. In the 66th minute Blair Armstrong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavinho Palmeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emílio Donato's late challenge caught a Gavião Kyikatejê's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emílio Donato helped the player get up and apologised. After 67 played minutes Lucca F.C got a freekick which was hit by Emílio Donato. Lucca F.C's Flavinho Palmeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Blair Armstrong in the 73rd minute of play. Flavinho Palmeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rod Reidfurd in the 75th minute of the match. After 76 played minutes Lucca F.C got a freekick which was hit by Ernesto Cearense. In the 80th minute Rod Reidfurd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavinho Palmeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Terry McAngus kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Gavião Kyikatejê's zone, Eurico Garcia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Innes McWalter came out of the goal and Eurico Garcia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Flavinho Palmeira came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Gavião Kyikatejê's Rod Reidfurd. But to his dismay, Rod Reidfurd quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. In the 91st minute, Adhemar Madureira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There was no doubt that Gavião Kyikatejê were the better team. Gavião Kyikatejê's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
