El Tiki-Tiki de Cappa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Girona FC the free kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kelemen Castro got free with Mariano Selmo in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. During the 78th minute of the match Gaudencio Gonza completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Gaudencio Gonza a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Gaudencio Gonza hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kelemen Castro in the 80th minute of play forced El Tiki-Tiki de Cappa's goalkeeper Mariano Selmo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Girona FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
