The supporters of Huvudstaden booed when Phenomenals FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hachemi Chaouchi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Phenomenals FC's Steve McManaman got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Huvudstaden's Thomas Hultman got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 24th match minute, Huvudstaden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kent Zander to maneuver through the defense. Stefan Bengtsson hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Steve McManaman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 38 played minutes Huvudstaden got a freekick which was hit by Stefan Bengtsson. After some careless play in the Phenomenals FC defense, Kent Zander kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edmond Nasro. The Phenomenals FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edmond Nasro should have stopped the shot. In the 44th minute, Huvudstaden's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Mouloud Mammeri fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Fouad Boutabout hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Steve McManaman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Abdelaziz Zerara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Grelsson having to interfere. Phenomenals FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Hugo Grelsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdelaziz Zerara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84th minute, Kent Zander left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Huvudstaden fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Mouloud Mammeri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute.
