After a defensive mix-up in Santos FC's zone, Atilano Bernard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andreas Alley came out of the goal and Atilano Bernard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edgard Walme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Andreas Alley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonas Ramos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Medievales's Joaquin George got a free kick in the 24th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Rodrick Orlinsky kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Carlos Gora. That made the score 2-0 in the 25 minute of play. When Edgard Walme came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Deportivo Medievales fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgard Walme couldn't finish the play. Andreas Alley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonas Ramos, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Atilano Bernard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Andreas Alley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jonas Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edgard Walme to strike the kick off in the second half. The Santos FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
