The Paunero fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabio Fagildo should have stopped the shot. Claudinho Rossi's late challenge caught a Paunero's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Claudinho Rossi helped the player get up and apologised. Paunero's Jonas Sugoi was substituted for Mauro Cordarrell. In the 7th match minute, Teresópolis F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinho Rossi to maneuver through the defense. In the 14th minute Julian Abarca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané de Godoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Teresópolis F.C's Mané de Godoi got control of the ball when Joaquin Botello tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 18 played minutes Paunero got a freekick which was hit by Guaberto Goi. Paunero's Fabio Fagildo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilmar Britto in the 20th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, Teresópolis F.C's goalkeeper Mané de Godoi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alonzo Gervaso. Frédson Quirino was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 23 minutes into the match. After 22 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Teresópolis F.C! When the match had been going on for 24 minutes, Paunero's Joaquin Botello got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Mané de Godoi. Mané de Godoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Abarca in the 27th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Alfredo Cordeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Julian Abarca kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mané de Godoi. That made the score 2-1 in the 34 minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Teresópolis F.C's Geovanni Quadros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fabio Fagildo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wilton Queirós during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gilmar Britto was the one to do the kick off. 59 minutes into the match, Teresópolis F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Abarca came free, but Mané de Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teresópolis F.C's attentive Christian Leite managed to snatch the ball when Alfredo Cordeiro made a throw-in in the 64th minute of the game. In the 71st minute, Alonzo Gervaso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joaquin Botello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mané de Godoi having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Julian Abarca ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mané de Godoi was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Teresópolis F.C's Mané de Godoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Abarca in the 79th minute of play. Mané de Godoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquin Botello, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Alfredo Cordeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Mané de Godoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 87 minutes into the match, Paunero's goalkeeper Fabio Fagildo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilmar Britto. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joaquin Botello during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Teresópolis F.C booed when Paunero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquin Botello didn't get a good kick on the ball. Teresópolis F.C's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
