With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ionică Negrescu in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abelardo Prejun saved Real Ayuntamiento CF from getting behind. In the 9th minute, Alberto Chan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute, Horia Irimescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gabriel Vişoianu came out of the goal and Romeo Iruinea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Real Ayuntamiento CF's Maximiliano Libertad got a free kick in the 44th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ionică Negrescu was the one to do the kick off. A sloppy throw-in by Claudio Gervaso in the 51st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Academia Rio's Horia Irimescu. A collision led to Academia Rio getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Nicu Burtea hit a great ball. After 60 played minutes Academia Rio got a freekick which was hit by Iustinian Tănăsescu. After a defensive mix-up in Real Ayuntamiento CF's zone, Iustinian Tănăsescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abelardo Prejun came out of the goal and Iustinian Tănăsescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abelardo Prejun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nechifor Miclauș, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Iustinian Tănăsescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 74 minutes into the match, Academia Rio's Ionică Negrescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Abelardo Prejun narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ruben Hug got free with Gabriel Vişoianu in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 85 minutes into the game, one of Academia Rio:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The corner ended in Ruben Hug almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Academia Rio's Gabriel Vişoianu did a great save. Iustinian Tănăsescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Abelardo Prejun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Real Ayuntamiento CF players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Academia Rio.
