The El Retorno de Palermo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sergio Faron should have stopped the shot. Arsenio Maraman hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Haitz in the 21st minute of play forced Congo Bongo's goalkeeper Saturnino Karmel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
