The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Elvio Olo scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ramon Leobardo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vinicio Aureo hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. The supporters of Academia de Campeones booed when Palermo AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato Matai didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute, Eustacio Harri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Saverio Todor took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Florentino Vermudo to make any attempt to save it. Ramon Leobardo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andres Leoncio in the 20th minute of the match. In the 23rd match minute, Academia de Campeones was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danilo Gaskon to maneuver through the defense. Eustacio Harri took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 23rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ramon Leobardo. Academia de Campeones's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Academia de Campeones's Ramon Leobardo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Lluques in the 26th minute of play. Ramon Leobardo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andres Leoncio, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. 35 minutes into the match, Academia de Campeones's goal looked a bit too open when Elvio Olo came free, but Ramon Leobardo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopoldo Lluques in the 36th minute of play forced Academia de Campeones's goalkeeper Ramon Leobardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ramon Leobardo came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Palermo AFC's Elvio Olo. But to his dismay, Elvio Olo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. If Vinicio Aureo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopoldo Lluques in the 46th minute of play forced Academia de Campeones's goalkeeper Ramon Leobardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vinicio Aureo during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 47th minute, Vinicio Aureo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Academia de Campeones's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Asur was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Zeledon Beti fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Academia de Campeones's protests and gave Zeledon Beti a yellow card for diving instead. Academia de Campeones:s Ramon Leobardo showed great skill when he stopped Eustacio Harri:s penalty. In the 73rd minute, Eustacio Harri ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ramon Leobardo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Isaac Tajo hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. After 79 played minutes, Academia de Campeones's Claudio Tano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Florentino Vermudo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Academia de Campeones reached it. Florentino Vermudo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saverio Todor in the 85th minute of play. The supporters of Academia de Campeones booed when Palermo AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damian Mincho didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andres Leoncio got free with Ramon Leobardo in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Academia de Campeones's Ramon Leobardo got control of the ball when Andres Leoncio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Palermo AFC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
