Academia de Campeones's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SANTOS FC- FDFDF the free kick. After 11 played minutes Academia de Campeones got a freekick which was hit by Mauricio Teofilio. In the 13th minute, Mauricio Teofilio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Academia de Campeones fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Silvinho Mendonça hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 18th minute of the match Claudio Tano sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Geovânio Mineiro skillfully saved the ball. In the 19th match minute, SANTOS FC- FDFDF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Falcão Araújo to maneuver through the defense. Claudio Tano, 20 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 30 minutes into the game, Academia de Campeones's Filomeno Isias nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Geovânio Mineiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Mauricio Teofilio was shown his second yellow card after 33 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 34 played minutes Academia de Campeones got a freekick which was hit by Mauricio Teofilio. Evandro Peixoto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Ramon Leobardo made a huge save. SANTOS FC- FDFDF's Geovânio Mineiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saverio Todor in the 47th minute of play. The SANTOS FC- FDFDF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Academia de Campeones were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Saverio Todor stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Academia de Campeones getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Fernan Txindoki hit a great ball. After 59 played minutes Academia de Campeones got a freekick which was hit by Saverio Todor. The supporters of SANTOS FC- FDFDF booed when Academia de Campeones was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saverio Todor didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 76 minutes, Horácio Costa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SANTOS FC- FDFDF and the Academia de Campeones players grew even worse after the yellow card. Horácio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. If Saverio Todor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th minute Saverio Todor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovânio Mineiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Asur received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Geovânio Mineiro came out and tried to block the shot, but Pedro Asur slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 90th minute. Saverio Todor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Geovânio Mineiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Academia de Campeones played a much better game than SANTOS FC- FDFDF and deserved their victory. The SANTOS FC- FDFDF players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
