If José Maria Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Juvenal Correia fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Agro Imortal's protests and gave Juvenal Correia a yellow card for diving instead. In the 6th match minute, Agro Imortal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juvenal Correia to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Agro Imortal getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Luís Fabiano Aparecido hit a great ball. In the 12th minute, Silas Melo sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Agro Imortal's Wellington de Almeida didn't even have to move. 14 minutes into the match, Agro Imortal's goal looked a bit too open when Henrique Alvarenga came free, but Wellington de Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 14 played minutes Agro Imortal got a freekick which was hit by Juvenal Correia. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silas Melo in the 17th minute of play forced Agro Imortal's goalkeeper Wellington de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute of the match, Henrique Alvarenga tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Wellington de Almeida saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 27th minute, José Maria Leão reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Wellington de Almeida. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 30th minute, Juvenal Correia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wellington de Almeida made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Henrique Alvarenga sent off a good shot on target. Wellington de Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henrique Alvarenga, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 45th match minute, Atlético Capixaba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernandinho Barreto to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andrézinho Pinho to make the kick off. The supporters of Atlético Capixaba booed when Agro Imortal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Pedro Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luís Fabiano Aparecido kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, José Maria Leão left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atlético Capixaba fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Atlético Capixaba's Marcos Messias was substituted for Aílton Branco. Wellington de Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henrique Alvarenga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 79 minutes into the match, Atlético Capixaba's goalkeeper Telmo Andrade had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raimundo Rezende. In the 83rd minute Henrique Alvarenga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wellington de Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Durvalino Torres came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Atlético Capixaba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Durvalino Torres couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Atlético Capixaba getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Fernandinho Barreto hit a great ball. When the referee ended the match the Atlético Capixaba players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
