Carlo Cirone was left in no man's land by his defense there! Beppe Sacchetti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurelio Barresi in the 8th minute of play forced F.C. Paços de Ferreira's goalkeeper Valdemar Câmara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10th minute, Hermínio Pinheiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 14 minutes into the match, F.C. Paços de Ferreira's goalkeeper Valdemar Câmara had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ennio Totaro. In the 17th minute, Hermínio Pinheiro made a precise shot to the right of Carlo Cirone. AC Roma's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermínio Pinheiro in the 21st minute of play forced AC Roma's goalkeeper Carlo Cirone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute, Alexandre Anjos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlo Cirone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hermínio Pinheiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Quintino Fonseca hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Valdemar Câmara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ennio Totaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. When Dave Paolini fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AC Roma's protests and gave Dave Paolini a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to AC Roma getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Dave Paolini hit a great ball. Hermínio Pinheiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlo Cirone having to interfere. When Jorge Sabrosa fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored F.C. Paços de Ferreira's protests and gave Jorge Sabrosa a yellow card for diving instead. Jorge Sabrosa kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Cosimo Maccarone struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Valdemar Câmara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AC Roma. The AC Roma players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. F.C. Paços de Ferreira were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hermínio Pinheiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A sloppy throw-in by Dave Paolini in the 51st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Quintino Fonseca. The supporters of F.C. Paços de Ferreira booed when AC Roma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cosimo Maccarone didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorge Sabrosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlo Cirone read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. A collision led to F.C. Paços de Ferreira getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Jorge Sabrosa hit a great ball. Felice Tieri made in the 61st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Cosimo Maccarone immediately put the ball in play. Beppe Sacchetti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valdemar Câmara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aurelio Barresi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hermínio Pinheiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Carlo Cirone made a huge save. After 83 minutes, Aurelio Barresi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AC Roma and the F.C. Paços de Ferreira players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 83rd match minute, AC Roma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aurelio Barresi to maneuver through the defense. In the 86th minute Beppe Sacchetti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdemar Câmara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 88 played minutes F.C. Paços de Ferreira got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Sabrosa. Valdemar Câmara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cosimo Maccarone in the 89th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ennio Totaro in the 94th minute of play forced F.C. Paços de Ferreira's goalkeeper Valdemar Câmara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle went the supporters of F.C. Paços de Ferreira were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant AC Roma side.
