Roderick Jonker's late challenge caught a SK Mons's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roderick Jonker helped the player get up and apologised. Roderick Jonker kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Ricky Zuidema might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Connor Osmond. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ricky Zuidema ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Degraef in the 9th minute of play forced FC Bal op het Dak's goalkeeper Carsten Maurits to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12th match minute, FC Bal op het Dak was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mart Harmens to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute Roderick Jonker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Connor Osmond saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, FC Bal op het Dak's goal looked a bit too open when Chen Hai Zhi came free, but Carsten Maurits reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 30 minutes, Carsten Maurits successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 36th match minute, SK Mons was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chen Hai Zhi to maneuver through the defense. 39 minutes into the match, FC Bal op het Dak's goal looked a bit too open when Tony Degraef came free, but Carsten Maurits reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Tony Degraef, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 39 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Carsten Maurits was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Martien Degenkamp in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Connor Osmond prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mart Harmens hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Carsten Maurits made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steven Puttemans in the 47th minute of play. In the 48th minute Steven Puttemans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carsten Maurits saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nick Daniels to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Nathan Kostermans recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Connor Osmond. Nathan Kostermans showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. Ricky Zuidema could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Connor Osmond made a huge save. SK Mons made a substitution. Rein Bautmans replaced Di Ping Jun. In the 67th minute, Carel Zuid hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carsten Maurits took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leif Olofsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 72 minutes of play, FC Bal op het Dak's Martien Degenkamp made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Connor Osmond was left in no man's land by his defense there! But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roderick Jonker couldn't finish the play. The SK Mons fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC Bal op het Dak were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
