In the 12thth minute of the game Ronald Thomson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bezerros EC's Luís Gustavo de Castro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Inácio Furtado charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Inácio Furtado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ronald Thomson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 22ndth minute tested the skills of Luís Gustavo de Castro when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Bezerros EC's zone, Ronald Thomson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Gustavo de Castro came out of the goal and Ronald Thomson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ronald Thomson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luís Gustavo de Castro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Ivan Steiner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agnaldo Linares in the 26th minute of the match. If Luther Stover had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Augusto Figueiredo hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Ronald Thomson in the 31stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Theo Zuniga ran back to his position shaking his head. Luís Gustavo de Castro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronald Thomson, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. When Ronald Thomson came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Golden Hills fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ronald Thomson couldn't finish the play. Bezerros EC's Luís Gustavo de Castro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronald Thomson in the 75th minute of play.
