Thanks to some nice moves Mitxel Abella could shoot a difficult shot in the 10th minute, which Marcos Esdras however easily saved by the left post. In the 11th match minute, Munat Tayka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mitxel Abella to maneuver through the defense. Geleberto Abeijon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patryk Wiater in the 13th minute of the match. Geleberto Abeijon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jhonny Del Fierro, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. A hard shot 18 in the game by Mitxel Abella from a close distance when the talented Marcos Esdras managed to make a qualified save. Palermo's players were relieved. Marcos Esdras came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Munat Tayka's Mitxel Abella. But to his dismay, Mitxel Abella quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gaur Abaurre stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Munat Tayka's Geleberto Abeijon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jhonny Del Fierro in the 56th minute of play. Marcos Esdras took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaur Abaurre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Casimiro Herensuge fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palermo's protests and gave Casimiro Herensuge a yellow card for diving instead. In the 72nd match minute, Palermo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Casimiro Herensuge to maneuver through the defense. 72 minutes into the match, Munat Tayka's Libertad Abendano broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. The Palermo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Palermo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
