Rolando Devalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Lucas Bastia made a huge save. After 41 minutes, Christian Taurino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Red Bull Crystallis and the Club Puerto Quito players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Club Puerto Quito booed when Red Bull Crystallis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position.
