After 9 played minutes Bograngen got a freekick which was hit by Pangeran Cross. Vitório Donato was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 14th minute. Portuguesa's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 21st match minute, Bograngen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stefan Engström to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Bograngen defense, Zeca Catarinense kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Patrik Eriksson. The Bograngen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Patrik Eriksson should have stopped the shot. In the 29th match minute, Bograngen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anders Bjursell to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 31 minutes, Joélson Rossi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portuguesa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joélson Rossi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Patrik Eriksson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zeca Catarinense in the 40th minute. Ruy Goiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nils-Åke Haström in the 41st minute of the match. When Joélson Rossi came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Portuguesa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joélson Rossi couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Bograngen booed when Portuguesa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabinho Ferreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Nils-Åke Haström came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Bograngen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nils-Åke Haström couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Casper Dahlberg to make the kick off. Ruy Goiano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bograngen. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Portuguesa's goalkeeper Ruy Goiano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 66th minute, Nils-Åke Haström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 68th minute, Nils-Åke Haström left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bograngen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Sidnei Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 76 played minutes Bograngen got a freekick which was hit by Benson Baba. Bograngen's Patrik Eriksson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joélson Rossi in the 78th minute of play. Luís Guilherme Valadares made in the 79th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Zeca Catarinense. 82 minutes into the game, Sidnei Faria cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Patrik Eriksson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Joélson Rossi took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Patrik Eriksson. Patrik Eriksson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Portuguesa fully deserved thier win.
