The supporters of Alcantarilla FC booed when NEWELL´S OLD BOYS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dante Quintan didn't get a good kick on the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Alcantarilla FC's goal looked a bit too open when Reynaldo Sabin came free, but Koldo Murcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Reynaldo Sabin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 23rdth minute of the game Reynaldo Sabin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Alcantarilla FC's Koldo Murcia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Reynaldo Sabin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Koldo Murcia having to interfere. Dante Quintan hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. When Dante Quintan fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's protests and gave Dante Quintan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 37th match minute, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dante Quintan to maneuver through the defense. Reynaldo Sabin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 44th match minute, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reynaldo Sabin to maneuver through the defense. Ramiro Ziguenza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ramiro Ziguenza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Ramiro Ziguenza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Alcantarilla FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 57th match minute, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Mundo to maneuver through the defense. 62 minutes in the game Almarín Herrera did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Dalmu Losada. A collision led to NEWELL´S OLD BOYS getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Reynaldo Sabin hit a great ball. Alcantarilla FC's Bernabé Valverde got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 81 minutes of play, Alcantarilla FC's Ramiro Ziguenza made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zuri Megia was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the referee ended the match the Alcantarilla FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
