The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Omer Grosse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kemal Davarcı in the 19th minute of the match. Bixente Colson made in the 20th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Nevşehirspor's Poli Doro. 24 minutes into the game, Bixente Colson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Elegance Dijon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nevşehirspor the free kick. After a rather tough play, Elegance Dijon's Bixente Colson got a free kick in the 24th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Elegance Dijon's goal looked a bit too open when Poli Doro came free, but Omer Grosse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elegance Dijon's Omer Grosse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kemal Davarcı in the 30th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kutlay Umay in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Omer Grosse saved Elegance Dijon from getting behind. Omer Grosse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kutlay Umay in the 38th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kemal Davarcı in the 40th minute of play forced Elegance Dijon's goalkeeper Omer Grosse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the game, Kutlay Umay cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Omer Grosse was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nevşehirspor's attentive Seçkin Ünlüol managed to snatch the ball when Bixente Colson made a throw-in in the 44th minute of the game. 46 minutes into the game, Poli Doro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Omer Grosse was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

Thanks to some nice moves Kutlay Umay could shoot a difficult shot in the 51st minute, which Omer Grosse however easily saved by the left post. 53 minutes into the game, Nevşehirspor's Kemal Davarcı nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Omer Grosse made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. In the 57th minute, Bixente Colson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nevşehirspor made a substitution. Bror Kent replaced Uğur Araz. Nevşehirspor's Lambe Conchas was substituted for Poli Doro. The supporters of Nevşehirspor booed when Elegance Dijon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bixente Colson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Richard Gaillet hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kemal Davarcı in the 64th minute of play forced Elegance Dijon's goalkeeper Omer Grosse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gianluca Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brendan Menguy in the 67th minute of play. A collision led to Elegance Dijon getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Bixente Colson hit a great ball. Nevşehirspor's Anthony Nwakaeme was substituted for Lv Nan Ke. The crowd rose to their feet as Nevşehirspor's Kemal Davarcı slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Omer Grosse. That made the score 0-5 after 76 minutes of play. In the 80th minute Richard Gaillet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gianluca Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 82nd minute, Nevşehirspor's Lambe Conchas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Omer Grosse. Omer Grosse yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. With a little luck, Elegance Dijon's Omer Grosse got control of the ball when Kutlay Umay tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Nevşehirspor supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Nevşehirspor would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
