In the 9th minute, Fabrício Graça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. AFC United's Fabien Barthez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save AFC United from getting a goal against them. Hilário Aveiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Egun Galan in the 21st minute of the match. 23 minutes into the game, G.D Vitória de Sernache's Heitor Vigário nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabien Barthez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Fabrício Graça hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Alberto Alda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 35 minutes into the match, Egun Galan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hilário Aveiro. G.D Vitória de Sernache's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Egun Galan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1.

Hilário Aveiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denis Law, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 53rd minute, Egun Galan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Hilário Aveiro. The goal made the score 1-3. Martino Trabado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 59 minutes into the match, Denis Law notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of G.D Vitória de Sernache's Hilário Aveiro. Hilário Aveiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 61st minute, Denis Irwin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Egun Galan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denis Law in the 66th minute of play forced G.D Vitória de Sernache's goalkeeper Hilário Aveiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th minute, Heitor Vigário hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 69th minute, AFC United's Egun Galan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hilário Aveiro. Hilário Aveiro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-5. In the 80th minute, Baltasar Zunzunegui hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 81 minutes, Heitor Vigário made it 2-6 with a short kick to the right side. AFC United's Fabien Barthez tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 92nd minute Egun Galan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hilário Aveiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabrício Graça took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabien Barthez. Fabien Barthez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-6. The G.D Vitória de Sernache supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching AFC United's performance. The match ended with a win for AFC United.
