The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Thibaut Mazieres managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Pointe Courte's supporters rose to their feet, but Thibaut Mazieres was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mané Cabral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 44 played minutes La Pointe Courte got a freekick which was hit by Gilbert Thellier. In the 75th match minute, La Pointe Courte was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Éric Di Meo to maneuver through the defense. If Nilton Capixaba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matanza and Steelers's Mané Cabral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmed Grail in the 80th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Matanza and Steelers's Alex Mendes got a free kick in the 87th minute. Matanza and Steelers succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though La Pointe Courte had controlled the match.
